camping in colorodo

we went camping over the weekend one last time before school started and the weather gets too cold. we went just outside of durango colorodo. it was really pretty there (almost as pretty as MT, but not quite) kaylee and andrew by the lake
will loved the water and throwing things into it

will wanted to chop wood too, but we didn't trust him with an ax. so we let him use the hammer, he thought he was awesome

1st day of school

andrew's first day of school was on friday, he did great! he had one moment right before i left that he was a little teary and wanted to go home, but he was fine.
today was the first real day of school, here is kaylee she was so excited. she loves school.
i can't believe andrew is old enough to be in kindergarten. i am so excited to not have the pre-school thing. i only have one drop-off and pick-up! yeah! will is already walking around the house today asking bubba? sissy? he already misses them.

playin' in the rain

it doesn't rain much in new mexico, but every august we have a mini monsoon season and get some good rain showers in the afternoon. the kids enjoyed it this day!
kaylee didn't want to get wet, but didn't want to completely miss out on the action.
andrew absolutely loved it! he played and played in it until it almost stopped raining.

will was a bit unsure of it all at first, but gradually warmed up to the idea.

connie mack boys!

so every year in farmington they hold the connie mack world series. this year my next door neighbor and friend vickie, swindled us into hosting players. we hosted these two players. both were amazing players and boys. we had a great time hanging out with them and watching them play. they were from miami florida, so new mexico was very different for them. we took them cliff jumping at the lake and to durango to see the mountains. weird that some of the players have never even seen a mountain. we also enjoyed playing the wii with them, especially andrew. we took them bowling and lost a bet with them. they also taught us, or at least me, how to dance. we really enjoyed them.

last, but not least...

at the end of our trip was our reuion with our ABQ friends. it was amazing how we picked up where we left of 3 years ago. this is the best bunch of friends anyone could ever ask for. i would never (and i really mean it) have survived ABQ without all of them. park day, tennis day, volleyball day, bunko, game nights, swapping baby-sitting, you name it we did it. i love these friends and their families, i can't wait for the next reunion. after 3 years, still the best of friends.
will and his newfound friend zach, they really enjoyed each other. wish we lived closer!

these were the 3 water-slide die hards. they played on that thing non-stop the whole time we were there.

to those of you who couldn't make it, i am so sorry. hopefully you will be at the next. we missed you.

spending time in UT with family

after staying with my parents for 10 days we headed to utah. we showed up at my brother chris's house at about 9:30 and they weren't home yet, i gave them a call and their sweet little madison had broken her collar bone and they were in the e.r. poor little thing, was so sad.
on the 24th of july we went to the hogal zoo in SLC with chris and family and mike and his family. it was stinkin hot, but we had a great time being with cousins.

will, andrew and kaden all had matching outfits, so we couldn't resist snapping a shot of them together. aren't they cute? we stayed at mike and tiffany's for 5 days. we went to 7 peaks (i forgot my stinkin' camera) the kids loved it. especially andrew, man does that kid love water slides. he loved the big ones especially. maybe next year he'll be tall enough to go on all the rides he wished that he could go on.

takin' pictures

we took new pictures of our kids while we were in montana. didn't they turn out cute? jeff and i make a great team, he gets them to smile (because i can't) and i just snap away. these are just a few of my favorites.
